homosexuality
Today we had the most interesting LA period. A guest speaker, Mr Kelvin Wong was invited to speak to us. He is an gay activist. I admire his courage to come out in the open and admit openly that he is different, that he is gay. He was not the least bit embarrassed and he sopke confidently and openly about this sensitive issue which no one would rather feel comfortable discussing in public. After his talk, I was a little disturbed when he mentioned Christians being agaisnt the idea of homosexuality. I was also shocked when Mr Tan mentioned that there was a story in the Bible about God regarding the homosexuals as sinners.
Personally, I feel that being gay is not right but yet not wrong. Its just a part of nature. Mr Wong has already explained that dolphins and birds also practice such gay relationships, so why can't man? Its not as if a gay person wants to be that way, such things are controlled by nature and is no fault of the person himself. And there is no harm in liking someone of the same sex. Yes, it maybe a bit unacceptable to the public eye if two people of the same sex are seen acting intimidately. But they are still human, they look the same, act the same, eat the same food, work the same jobs. The only difference is who they are attracted to, and is that such a big deal? Why do people feel that this should be the core of discrimination. I personally feel that they have nothing better to do, and thus cause such a racket.
Yet, God sees these people as sinners. I am not going against God, but my question is what have they done wrong? Yes, God's intention was to have Adam and Eve. If he supported Gays he would have Adam and Adam or Eve and Eve. But as Mr Wong said he did not choose to be gay, he only chose to admit it and be open about it. So, if homosexuality is contributed by nature, and nature is controlled by God, should the sinner be man? No.
This is simply my point of view, I am sure this is a sensitive issue, and others will have different points of views. But hear me say, discrimination, whether by race, status, or homosexuality, is only a problem and never a solution. People discriminate to solve the problem of 'mixing' and 'pollution', but in the end, only more problem arises.
